Many of us dream of living on the coast, but how to tackle the sometimes tricky
planting conditions that coastal gardening demands?
This inspirational and practical book explains how to design, plan and plant up your garden by the sea, making the most of the coastal microclimate.
An exposed situation, extremes of weather, soil type and salty air can be difficult to deal with. Learn how to design and choose the right plants that will thrive, whether it be a windswept, sheltered, container, productive or tropical and exotic-looking garden.

Coastal Gardens specialises in landscape and garden design, also planting and garden advice with particular knowledge of gardens and gardening in Dorset & Devon in the UK.

Based in Purbeck on the Devon & Dorset World Heritage Jurrasic Coastline, we are experienced in dealing with the all sorts of locations, weather extremes and varying soil conditions.

Believing that gardens should be an organic, living experience and although the hard landscaping is important for a basic structure, functional necessary or a foil, it is also the plants and the planting that makes for a good garden whatever the desired look.
